Very recently, Your Price Bifold Doors was asked to participate in ITV’s “Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover”. The programme is due to aired in December, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for our bifold team! Here’s a sneak peek into what happened…

The contestant’s background story

On the show, the lady’s home had unfortunately just been broken into. It was therefore imperative that the security of the property was upgraded as soon as possible. So on the day, Peter Andre’s team surprised her, and they had just one day to completely transform both her front room and conservatory area.

The transformation process

The space in question was totally redecorated, and new furniture and other decorative items were brought in. The main addition, however, were the brand new bifold doors that were added to both her front room and conservatory.

Your Price Bifold Doors supplied one bifold set consisting of two panes for her conservatory, and three-paned bifolds for her front room. Not only did this add much to the aesthetics of the property, it also addressed the issue of security, as the doors are made of robust material, and have an effective, multipoint locking system.

The best thing about YPE is that they did everything they could to find a solution to our problem, which was to replace original 1920s leaded windows with a match in aluminium with the teardrop pattern reproduced. I knew I wanted Origin 70 slim frames but was unsure how well the leaded fanlights would be matched. YPE arranged to get leaded panels mocked up, matching the originals, taking great care to get this right. Our original architraves were preserved, scalloped lead flashing was reproduced too. Great care was taken not to damage the pebble dash surrounding windows which wouldn’t have been easy to match if repair was needed. Fitters were pleasant and tidy. Snags were dealt with quickly. There was no pushy salesman, no hard sell or patronising attitudes which are still prevalent in this business. We were nervous about removing beautiful original windows but very pleased with the result.

A company that actually sticks to their lead times! We got a site visit from Andy within 48 hours of requesting one, despite being almost 1hr and a half away. Quoted a two week lead time for a bifold and one window when everyone else was quoting 8-12 weeks, and bang on time, the stock arrived with them and they installed the next day. The fit and finish is brilliant and the lads were very friendly and helpful. Faultless service and have since recommended them to friends!

The quality of the aluminium windows and doors we choose is very high but in a way this is the easy part because it's clearly visible. More difficult is knowing how well they well be installed. Fred and Andy who fitted them are well above your average window fitter - they are craftsmen who took real care and pride in their work. They turned up when they said they would, discussed and agreed finishing options with us and then completed the work with great attention to detail. Perfect!
