The Project: Kommerling French doors installation in Reigate, Surrey

The client was looking to replace an existing back door and window with wider French doors to welcome more natural light. Simple, yet classic, French doors offer an excellent way to connect with the outdoors. Our client opted for uPVC French doors from German manufacturer Kommerling to open up the back of their home to welcome more natural light. More light in any property can transform the living space to make it feel bigger, brighter, and more welcoming. They also allow light to flow into other areas of the home. Even when closed during the winter months, property owners will be able to enjoy the views of the outside space.

With five-chambered profiles and high specification glass units, these doors are very energy efficient and can achieve the highest energy ratings, so will save money on fuel bills. They also meet the strictest security ratings with multi-point locking systems, locking handles, and shootbolts. They are extremely damage-resistant and are guaranteed for longevity. The Results

We removed the existing back door and window and a builder who was working on their property removed the wall beneath the window for us. The new Kommerling French doors were fitted by our experienced installation team. The client opted for white for a fresh and universal appeal. The client was very happy with the doors and the change they have made to her home.

We've just had new bifold doors, a side door and a couple of windows fitted by YPE and couldn't be happier. From the start Terry was infinitely patient with my many questions and changes of mind. When it came to arranging delivery Marie was extremely responsive, helpful and pleasant to deal with, and finally Kirk and the team who did an awesome job on the install.We looked at a few places to get the windows from but decided to go with YPE based on their reviews and i'm glad we did.

The whole experience was great. We had some old bifold doors from another company that were broken and needed completely replacing. YPE were quick to respond to our initial enquiry, and soon after visited to measure up, coming back with the most competitive quote. The new doors were manufactured incredibly quickly, installation was super smooth, and the new doors are fantastic - better than what we had previously at almost half the price we paid for those. The best thing about YPE is that they did everything they could to find a solution to our problem, which was to replace original 1920s leaded windows with a match in aluminium with the teardrop pattern reproduced. I knew I wanted Origin 70 slim frames but was unsure how well the leaded fanlights would be matched. YPE arranged to get leaded panels mocked up, matching the originals, taking great care to get this right. Our original architraves were preserved, scalloped lead flashing was reproduced too. Great care was taken not to damage the pebble dash surrounding windows which wouldn’t have been easy to match if repair was needed. Fitters were pleasant and tidy. Snags were dealt with quickly. There was no pushy salesman, no hard sell or patronising attitudes which are still prevalent in this business. We were nervous about removing beautiful original windows but very pleased with the result.

A company that actually sticks to their lead times! We got a site visit from Andy within 48 hours of requesting one, despite being almost 1hr and a half away. Quoted a two week lead time for a bifold and one window when everyone else was quoting 8-12 weeks, and bang on time, the stock arrived with them and they installed the next day. The fit and finish is brilliant and the lads were very friendly and helpful. Faultless service and have since recommended them to friends!

The quality of the aluminium windows and doors we choose is very high but in a way this is the easy part because it's clearly visible. More difficult is knowing how well they well be installed. Fred and Andy who fitted them are well above your average window fitter - they are craftsmen who took real care and pride in their work. They turned up when they said they would, discussed and agreed finishing options with us and then completed the work with great attention to detail. Perfect!
