As part of a major double-storey renovation project in Pollards Hill, London, Your Price Bifolds were commissioned to supply and install new Origin doors and windows. The opening had been created but the client wanted windows next to the doors to stop the door from opening the full width but still letting in a lot of natural light and offering a contemporary aesthetic.

The doors were in an unusual location on the second floor of the extension, with steps going down into the garden for an elevated view. Origin glazing and its doors and windows can be designed to seamlessly match each other. These doors and windows were designed to welcome plenty of natural light, with their expansive glass panels offering uninterrupted views of the outdoor areas, letting our clients enjoy their outdoors and surroundings all year round. The client chose a design with a traffic door, which works like an ordinary door, so you can access the outdoors without opening the full concertina of doors.

The Results

Any challenges?

Due to the elevated position of the installation, our door fitted had to carry the materials up to the install point and ensure that the doors were level before fitting. We've just had new bifold doors, a side door and a couple of windows fitted by YPE and couldn't be happier. From the start Terry was infinitely patient with my many questions and changes of mind. When it came to arranging delivery Marie was extremely responsive, helpful and pleasant to deal with, and finally Kirk and the team who did an awesome job on the install.We looked at a few places to get the windows from but decided to go with YPE based on their reviews and i'm glad we did.

The whole experience was great. We had some old bifold doors from another company that were broken and needed completely replacing. YPE were quick to respond to our initial enquiry, and soon after visited to measure up, coming back with the most competitive quote. The new doors were manufactured incredibly quickly, installation was super smooth, and the new doors are fantastic - better than what we had previously at almost half the price we paid for those. The best thing about YPE is that they did everything they could to find a solution to our problem, which was to replace original 1920s leaded windows with a match in aluminium with the teardrop pattern reproduced. I knew I wanted Origin 70 slim frames but was unsure how well the leaded fanlights would be matched. YPE arranged to get leaded panels mocked up, matching the originals, taking great care to get this right. Our original architraves were preserved, scalloped lead flashing was reproduced too. Great care was taken not to damage the pebble dash surrounding windows which wouldn’t have been easy to match if repair was needed. Fitters were pleasant and tidy. Snags were dealt with quickly. There was no pushy salesman, no hard sell or patronising attitudes which are still prevalent in this business. We were nervous about removing beautiful original windows but very pleased with the result.

A company that actually sticks to their lead times! We got a site visit from Andy within 48 hours of requesting one, despite being almost 1hr and a half away. Quoted a two week lead time for a bifold and one window when everyone else was quoting 8-12 weeks, and bang on time, the stock arrived with them and they installed the next day. The fit and finish is brilliant and the lads were very friendly and helpful. Faultless service and have since recommended them to friends!

The quality of the aluminium windows and doors we choose is very high but in a way this is the easy part because it's clearly visible. More difficult is knowing how well they well be installed. Fred and Andy who fitted them are well above your average window fitter - they are craftsmen who took real care and pride in their work. They turned up when they said they would, discussed and agreed finishing options with us and then completed the work with great attention to detail. Perfect!
