This customer in Liphook, Hampshire contacted the team looking to modernise their existing fittings, requesting a number of services. This included the installation of Origin bifold doors, OW80 windows, internal doors and a front door in jet black. These made-to-measure designs were perfect for the contemporary finish our client wanted.

Our customer also hoped for highly functional designs, having heard about Origin’s reputation for creating high-quality products. Selecting their unique design requirements, the new aluminium windows and doors would also be thermally efficient, low maintenance and very secure.

The Results

There were multiple installations covered, as detailed in the project images. As an experienced team, we methodically planned and completed the job in stages, including the addition of astragal bars to provide a modern look.

As you can see, Origin bi-fold doors and windows have minimal sightlines to maximise the amount of natural sunlight and views, creating light, airy and spacious rooms. Our client was more than happy with the results and final look, having chosen products that complemented each other.

Any challenges?

With several steps to this house transformation, one of the most complex elements was adding the astragal bars to the internal doors.

These needed to be fitted to the glass after the initial install, creating an industrial look and a modern finish. Mimicking the aesthetics of Crittall doors, this steel-look glazing divides up property spaces without obstructing light and views.

We've just had new bifold doors, a side door and a couple of windows fitted by YPE and couldn't be happier. From the start Terry was infinitely patient with my many questions and changes of mind. When it came to arranging delivery Marie was extremely responsive, helpful and pleasant to deal with, and finally Kirk and the team who did an awesome job on the install.We looked at a few places to get the windows from but decided to go with YPE based on their reviews and i'm glad we did.

The whole experience was great. We had some old bifold doors from another company that were broken and needed completely replacing. YPE were quick to respond to our initial enquiry, and soon after visited to measure up, coming back with the most competitive quote. The new doors were manufactured incredibly quickly, installation was super smooth, and the new doors are fantastic - better than what we had previously at almost half the price we paid for those. YPE installed new bi-fold doors and fitted a Spitfire front door for us, replacing old units. The best thing about YPE is that they did everything they could to find a solution to our problem, which was to replace original 1920s leaded windows with a match in aluminium with the teardrop pattern reproduced. I knew I wanted Origin 70 slim frames but was unsure how well the leaded fanlights would be matched. YPE arranged to get leaded panels mocked up, matching the originals, taking great care to get this right. Our original architraves were preserved, scalloped lead flashing was reproduced too. Great care was taken not to damage the pebble dash surrounding windows which wouldn’t have been easy to match if repair was needed. Fitters were pleasant and tidy. Snags were dealt with quickly. There was no pushy salesman, no hard sell or patronising attitudes which are still prevalent in this business. We were nervous about removing beautiful original windows but very pleased with the result.

A company that actually sticks to their lead times! We got a site visit from Andy within 48 hours of requesting one, despite being almost 1hr and a half away. Quoted a two week lead time for a bifold and one window when everyone else was quoting 8-12 weeks, and bang on time, the stock arrived with them and they installed the next day. The fit and finish is brilliant and the lads were very friendly and helpful. Faultless service and have since recommended them to friends!

We first chose to use YPE Windows after meeting Andy who was absolutely brilliant. He had a quick turnaround on getting our Origin windows ordered and were ready to fit promptly.Fred & Chad fitted our new windows and have been absolutely great, I cannot recommend them enough. The quality of the aluminium windows and doors we choose is very high but in a way this is the easy part because it's clearly visible. More difficult is knowing how well they well be installed. Fred and Andy who fitted them are well above your average window fitter - they are craftsmen who took real care and pride in their work. They turned up when they said they would, discussed and agreed finishing options with us and then completed the work with great attention to detail. Perfect!
